Meter Location

SAP sends the Meter Location request as part of an installation or an uninstall operation.

For an installation, this service creates a service point and the service point channel or channels, then links the meter to the service point. IEE MDUS requires a one-to-one relationship between the meter program and the service point program. The service point channels are created based on this service point program. This service fails if there is no service point program ID that matches with the meter program ID of the specified meter.

This service also moves the user-defined attributes (UDAs) from the meter channels to the corresponding service point channel or channels, and sets the meter status based on the value specified in the Meter Status after Meter Location system setting, which has a default value of Active.

ISAIM processes meter location operations only after completing the meter create and create register requests. A successful meter location operation triggers the meter registered notification operation when creating a service point and linking it to the meter for the first time.
